Whalesafe presented at the 6th of Cetacean Group workshop

06/17/2016 - The Whalesafe project was presented today in Turin during the sixth of Cetacean Group workshop, organized during the congress of the Italian Society of Marine Biology (SIBM).


Whalesafe Conference June 8th 2016

The University of Genoa (Department of Earth, Environment and Life and Physics Department), and the Port Authority of Savona, will illustrate how the WhaleSafe project, funded by the European Union, will promote the conservation of whales, through creation of a detection and alarm system with intelligent buoys, which will avoid the possible collisions of these whales with ships.

Buoy deployment operations started

The deployment operations for the buoys built by Edgelab for the WHALESAFE project have started. The operations are coordinate by Ilma Sub, under the supervision of University of Genoa (DIFI and DISTAV) on board of the 'Menkab', and of the Capitaneria di Porto di Savona.

30th Conference of the European Cetacean Society

The two Life projects ARION and WHALESAFE presented at the 30th Conference of the European Cetacean Society (Madeira, 14-16 Ma?rch 2016). the theme of the congress is: "Into the Deep: Research and Conservation on Oceanic Marine Mammals"
